Questions people ask
Is Yaara therapy?
No. Yaara is a listening and companionship service. Listeners and counsellors support you in conversation; they do not diagnose or treat. If you are in crisis, call 112 or Tele-MANAS on 14416.
Are calls recorded?
Never. Audio and video go directly between you and the listener and are not stored. We keep only call metadata such as duration and coins charged, for billing.
How is a call charged?
Per started minute at the rate shown on the listener's profile. The meter is on screen, and the call ends by itself when your coins run out, so you can never overspend.
Does the listener see my phone number?
No. Calls run inside the app. The other person sees only your display name and photo.
Which languages are available?
Hindi, English and a growing list of regional languages. Filter listeners by the language you are most comfortable in.
Can I use Yaara on a laptop or desktop?
Yes. Go to meetyaara.com and tap Sign in. The web version has the same listeners, chat, voice and video calls and coins as the app, with nothing to install.
How do I delete my account?
From Profile → Delete account in the app, or by emailing support. See the Delete your account page for exactly what is removed.
Who can become a counsellor?
Anyone 18 or older in India who completes identity verification and is approved by our team. Trained counsellors are welcome; empathy and patience matter most.
How do counsellors get paid?
Per billed minute, credited instantly to an earnings wallet, with weekly payouts to a verified bank account or UPI ID.
